Synopsis
BiTRACON is a CBTC signaling system independently researched and developed by UniTTEC. It provides safe and high performance integrated solution based on the moving block system. It adopts active train positioning technology and continuous train-wayside bi-directional data communication technology without relying on the trackside train occupancy detecting equipment. BiTRACON system can operate in different operational levels, such as STO, DTO and UTO. It supports all kinds of operating modes, including Intermittent Mode, Enhanced Intermittent Mode, Intermittent-consecutive Mode and Consecutive Mode. BiTRACON system has passed Lloyd~s and TüV Rheinland’s international independent safety assessment, and obtained the SIL4 safety certification and CRCC independently development audit, which make the system achieve domestic advanced level.

System Characteristics

High Safety and High Reliability: BiTRACON system is a safe and reliable CBTC signaling system with full intellectual property rights and SIL4 certification for the whole system, developed through learning, absorption and innovation of international mature CBTC technology.

Normalized platform design and miniaturization design: the VC board adopts 3U miniature design to improve system integration; the on-board and wayside equipment adopt the same hardware platform to reduce types of the spare parts and save customers’ costs.

Multiple communication methods: It supports multiple ways of communication like WLAN and LTE and supports transmission mediums like free wireless, waveguide tube and leaky coaxial cable.

Enhanced intermittent mode: based on the train-wayside loop technology or regional wireless communication technology, it provides enhanced intermittent mode and realizes intermittent-consecutive train-wayside communication to improve operational efficiency and reduce the costs

Multiple automatic operation levels: The system supports STO (Semi-automated train operation), DTO (Driverless train operation), and UTO (Unattended Train Operation)

Interoperability: Flexible structure in which communication protocols can be loaded in layered  approach, supports different safe communication protocols (Subset-037, Subset-098, RSSP-I, RSSP-II and etc.). It can realize interoperability with different signaling systems.

Mature and stable system: BiTRACON CBTC system is based on years of application performance with multiple domestic and overseas lines, accumulating experience of implementation, operation, maintenance and management from over ten projects for over a decade.

Synopsis
The DTO/UTO Signaling System provided by UniTTEC can realize whole process of automatic operations like automatic wakeup, self-testing, automatic departure from the station, automatic train operation in line, train’s precise stop in station, automatic door opening and closing, automatic turn-back, auto sleep after finishing service operation, without manipulation of drivers or crew member. UniTTEC undertakes scientific research project of the UTO signaling system which is the only project approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China. The system has multiple patent technologies and can rapidly respond to client needs. The system is suitable for different rail transportation projects, such as metro, light rail, monorail, low and medium speed maglev and so on.

High accuracy and high efficiency positioning technology: It adopts dedicated coding cable to realize train positioning with precision of centimeter level; It can realize train positioning in static state.

Automated test platform: It can realize automatic system integration test at equipment level, system level and line level. In this way we can save test time, greatly shorten on-site commissioning period and improve system delivery ability.

Automatic testing of the full business scenario: It can realize quick automatic test for different specific application in various operation scenarios, shortening on-site commissioning time.

Synopsis

Enhanced Intermittent ATC: It improves system safety through area continuous train-wayside wireless communication. When the train approaches and departs from the platform, it will continuously monitors the platform emergency stop button and platform door state, realizing continuous safety protection over the platform area.

Continuous and flexible temporary speed restriction: the system supports interval continuous temporary speed restriction setting and multiple temporary speed restriction setting modes.

Speed-distance operation mode based on automatic blocking: by referring to the traditional automatic blocking, it makes innovation on trackside signal layout design and realizes speed-distance operation mode; the trackside signal will give explicit meaning to the driver and improve driving efficiency.

Regional wireless coverage: It sets continuous train-wayside wireless communication in platform area, turn-back area and transfer area; the high speed operation area for the interval trains without deploying wireless communication avoids the demands for high speed wireless communication system.

Metro operation mode: It supports train door-platform door interlocking control; ATO operation; automatic operation adjustment; automatic turn-back (ATB) function and etc.

Seamless switchover between ETCS and CBTC: the system is based on the CBTC system and meets operation needs of rapid, large capacity and public rail transit. The system can be switched between ETCS and CBTC flexibly, quickly and seamlessly

Open and interoperable system architecture: the trackside adopts ETCS-1 standard conforming equipment, making it possible for network interoperability and information sharing. CBTC system meets requirements of interoperability.
